Complete MAC Air two-person pumper kit with two wired MRC Stage One EVO helmets, two air hoses, variable speed controller, wiring and universal bar mount
RAD's MAC Air package with two wired MRC Stage One EVO helmets. The radio, intercom and vehicle-to-helmet audio cables are separate.

The quickest way to choose a UTV air pumper kit is to answer three questions: how many riders need helmet air, whether you already own compatible helmets, and how you will route the hoses. Those answers matter more than buying the package with the longest feature list.

This guide compares the helmet air pumper kits available at RAD UTV Parts, including MAC Air two- and four-person bundles and packages with wired helmets. Product contents were checked in October 2026; use each listing for current options and availability.

Two-person vs. four-person: choose by connected riders

A two-person pumper supplies two helmet connections. A four-person setup is the starting point when all four occupants need helmet air. Count actual users, then measure the routes from the proposed blower location to each seat. Rear-seat hoses can require a different route from the front pair.

If you usually ride with two people in a four-seat machine, compare the two-person package with your future plans. If you intend to run a four-outlet pumper with fewer hoses, check the manufacturer's instructions for closing unused outlets; do not assume an open outlet or an improvised splitter is acceptable.

Pumper bundle or package with helmets?

The word “kit” is used for several different combinations. The MAC Air two-person bundle includes the pumper, two expandable hoses, rocker variable-speed controller and universal bar mount. The four-person bundle supplies four hoses. Neither of those pumper bundles includes helmets.

The RAD two-person package with MRC Stage One EVO helmets adds two wired helmets, with each rider's size selected separately. The wired Bell Qualifier package is another route for riders who prefer a top-air helmet. Check the selected package and wiring options; a similarly named listing may have different equipment.

Top-air and mid-air helmets: check the space around your head

Top-air hoses attach above the helmet. Mid-air connections place the inlet lower, which changes the hose route. Neither layout is automatically the best fit for every seat and cage combination. Sit in your normal riding position and check clearance around the roof, headrest and shoulder area before choosing.

The MRC EVO uses a threaded mid-air inlet. If adding a magnetic connector, choose the helmet-side adapter for that inlet and the matching hose-side hardware. The MagLock collection includes separate components as well as kits; buying one side does not necessarily complete the connection.

Add a magnetic quick-release connection to a compatible helmet air hose. This kit includes the hose side, helmet side, magnetic dock and dust cap. Check your exact helmet inlet before ordering; the MRC EVO requires its matching threaded helmet-side adapter.

A wired helmet is only one part of communications

Helmet audio wiring and a helmet air hose are separate systems. A pre-wired helmet does not supply the vehicle intercom, two-way radio or the cables between the seats and intercom. Confirm connector and audio-system compatibility before ordering. Our UTV communications guide explains how those pieces fit together.

Measure these five things before ordering

  1. Rider count: the number of connected helmets, including rear passengers.
  2. Helmet fit: measure each rider and use the current helmet size chart.
  3. Hose route: measure along the intended path, allowing for head movement, seat adjustment and entry or exit.
  4. Mount location: check blower clearance, tubing dimensions and access for filter service. Keep the intake away from exhaust discharge and follow the installation instructions.
  5. Electrical installation: confirm the model's power and wiring requirements. Keep the controller accessible and protect wiring as specified by the manufacturer.

There is no single installation-time promise that fits every UTV. Existing wiring, mounting space and the number of seats change the work involved.

Filter and hose care matters after the first ride

Inspect the filter, hose condition and connections according to the manufacturer's instructions. Use replacement filters for the exact pumper: MAC Air and MAC-1X parts should not be assumed interchangeable. Follow the instructions for cleaning and drying a washable element, and replace damaged parts rather than relying on airflow alone as a condition check.

Useful service parts include MAC Air filter kits, expandable hoses and a MagLock hose-storage dock. A dock parks a compatible hose connection when disconnected; it is not a roof panel.

What helmet air can—and cannot—do

A recreational helmet pumper uses a fan to move filtered ambient air through a hose. It is not a tire compressor, an oxygen supply or air conditioning. Do not treat this equipment as a certified respirator, protection from carbon monoxide, or a guarantee of dust-free air. Helmet fit, certification and intended use still need to be checked independently.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a regular helmet with an air pumper?

Only use a helmet with the manufacturer's approved forced-air inlet and compatible connections. Do not drill or modify a helmet to add an inlet without the manufacturer's explicit approval.

Are MagLock connectors included with every package?

No. Check the included-components list. The RAD MRC EVO package does not include MagLock hardware; select compatible adapters separately if desired.

Is more airflow always a better choice?

Choose the manufacturer's configuration for your rider count and helmet connections. Outlet count, routing, filter condition and the selected controller matter; an unsupported airflow comparison is not a useful substitute for those checks.

Where should I start if I already have helmets?

Check their inlet type and intended use, then compare the two- and four-person pumper bundles. If you also need helmets, compare the full packages and size each rider individually.
