Get full-size GMRS performance in a compact, flexible package with the Rugged Radios G2 Mini Radio Kit. This 30-watt mobile radio uses a remote-mount design that lets you install the radio body out of sight while keeping the display, controls, speaker, and accessory connection conveniently located on the hand microphone.

Bundled with a UNI-MAG universal antenna mount and a POINT5 no-ground-plane antenna, this complete kit supports either traditional NMO mounting or magnetic mounting. It is a versatile communication setup for UTVs, trucks, Jeeps, overland vehicles, work vehicles, and other applications where space and clean installation matter.

What makes the G2 Mini different from a standard mobile GMRS radio?

The G2 Mini places its main controls, LED display, speaker, and accessory port on the waterproof hand microphone. This allows the compact radio body to be mounted out of sight while keeping the controls within easy reach.

30 Watts of GMRS Power

The G2 Mini delivers up to 30 watts of transmit power for vehicle-to-vehicle, trail, road, and group communication. High, medium, and low power settings let you adjust output based on the situation.

Actual communication range depends on terrain, obstacles, antenna placement, installation quality, weather, and whether compatible GMRS repeaters are available.

Compact Remote-Mount Design

The small radio chassis can be installed under a dash, behind a panel, beneath a seat, or in another protected location. The hand microphone handles the functions you need most, reducing dashboard clutter and giving you more freedom when planning the installation.

A universal U-bracket and hardware are included for mounting the radio body.

IP67 Waterproof Display Hand Microphone

The included hand microphone is rated IP67 waterproof and features a clear LED display with Rugged Radios’ RIDEui menu system. The interface is designed to make channel selection, setting changes, and feature access straightforward.

The microphone also includes a magnetic mount, allowing it to remain secure and accessible inside the vehicle.

AMPLIFY 2.0 Stable Transmission

The G2 uses a Mitsubishi transmit amplifier as part of Rugged Radios’ AMPLIFY 2.0 system. It is designed to provide stable, consistent output during transmissions and reduce power drop-off during extended use.

Multiple Speaker Options

You can choose where incoming audio is played:

• Hand microphone speaker
• Radio base-unit speaker
• Both speakers together

The radio body also includes a 3.5 mm mono external speaker port for adding a compatible external speaker.

Universal Antenna Mounting

This kit includes the UNI-MAG universal antenna mount, which provides two installation options:

• Traditional NMO antenna mounting
• Magnetic antenna mounting

The mount includes a 13-foot coax cable and is paired with a GMRS and UHF POINT5 no-ground-plane tuned whip antenna. A no-ground-plane antenna can be useful on vehicles or mounting locations that do not provide a suitable metal ground plane.

GMRS and Repeater Channels

The G2 Mini includes the standard high-power GMRS channel set:

• 15 standard GMRS channels: Channels 1–7 and 15–22
• 10 repeater channels
• 259 privacy codes: 51 CTCSS and 208 DCS
• Adjustable tone codes
• Split-tone repeater capability

Dual-channel monitoring and channel scanning help you keep track of more than one programmed channel while traveling or coordinating with a group.

Programmable Controls and Quick Access

The display microphone includes programmable P1 and P2 buttons for frequently used features. A dedicated HWY button provides quick access to the Channel 19 preset.

Additional adjustable settings include display brightness, squelch, roger beep, transmit and receive alerts, narrow or wide band operation, and button lock.

Weather Alerts and UHF Monitoring

The G2 Mini is weather-alert capable, helping you stay informed when conditions change. It also includes a listen-only mode for supported UHF frequencies.

Connect a Headset or Helmet Kit

An accessory port on the display hand microphone allows the G2 Mini to connect directly to a compatible headset or helmet wiring kit. This provides a convenient option for users who want radio audio and push-to-talk communication without adding an intercom.

The G2 Mini is not compatible with intercom communication systems.
